Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I successfully use the font identifier from an image?
You will achieve the best results by uploading high-resolution images (the recommended height for the cropped word is at least 100 pixels). Ensure that the text is clear, perpendicular to the image edges, and has good contrast against the background.
Is the tool free to use?
Yes! At this time, FontEqual provides its font recognizer completely free of charge and without requiring an account registration.
Why does the preview differ from my original text?
We return the top 5 most similar fonts. The preview is for visual verification. If the letters in your original image have additional shadows, glows, or 3D effects, the preview rendered in black will show the "clean" form of the font.
How many fonts are in your database?
Currently, we have exactly 217 980 fonts in our database. We are constantly updating it to include the most popular free and commercial typefaces from Google Fonts, Adobe Fonts, and other well-known repositories.
